Aalesund, Norway, 2 December 2008 – Industrial Control Design AS, a leading provider of software for development of advanced control systems has decided to offer its CDP software package to students for free.
Industrial Control Design has started a pan-European initiative aimed at universities and colleges and are now offering students free licenses of their Control Design Platform, CDP. This C++ control system middleware will give the students a powerful toolbox to develop advanced control systems in a fraction of the time otherwise required.
Using CDP, students may develop more advanced control architectures, including distributed control designs, redundant solutions and advanced simulations, interfacing with standard field-buses such as CANopen or Modbus. CDP will provide the students with an extensive framework for test and simulation, including tools to perform realistic hardware-in-the-loop testing.
"With this initiative we hope to inspire students to explore the possibilities within advanced control design, and to make them aware of the most advanced software package for control design on the market today", says Bjørnar Huse, General Manager of Industrial Control Design AS.
