Ethernet on workstation computers
Your workstation computer must have an Ethernet interface, with TCP/IP installed.
Make sure your ip-address is valid (not 0.0.0.0) by typing 'ipconfig' in the command prompt (Start Menu - Run.. - 'cmd').
If you do not have a physical network connected, you must ensure that TCP/IP is configured to use static ip address. To enable static ip-address, open 'Internet Protocol (TCP/IP)' properties in the Local Area Connection Status dialog and select 'Use the following IP address:', type in a valid address. If you do not know a valid address, try using '10.0.1.11'.
Your firewall must be set up to allow CDP to use ports 2040 to 2047 and ports 80 to 89. Internet Explorer must be set up to allow access to local host.
You can use the CDP Network Setup Wizard to automatically verify access to ip network ports and configure Microsoft Internet Explorer security settings. |
